After arriving at Seopjikoji, I looked ahead and saw beautiful rocks and a stunning ocean spread out before me.
I gazed at the sea for a long time.
After a while, some haenyeo (female divers) came out of the water.
They were speaking in the Jeju dialect, and it was my first time hearing it since arriving in Jeju.
Even though it's Korean, I found it difficult to understand. 😐
섭지코지에 도착 한 후 앞을 바라보니 멋진 암석들과 이쁜 바다가 펼쳐저 있었다.
나는 오랫동안 바다를 바라보았다.
잠시후 바다에서 해녀 분들이 올라오셨다. 해녀분들은 제주도 방언을 쓰셨는데 제주도와서 처음 제주도 방언을 들었다. 같은 한국어인데 이해하기가 힘들었다. 😐
바다뒤에는 올라 갈 수 있는 언덕이 있다. 그 언덕 올라가는 동안 나는 눈이 즐거웠다.
옆에는 이쁜 바다가 펼쳐저있고 다른 한 쪽은 넓은 초원이 펼쳐저 말들이 뛰놀고 있었기 때문이다.
그리고 저 앞에는 하얀색 등대가 있는데 많은 사람들이 거기에서 사진을 찍고있었다.
사람들이 서로 웃으면서 사진을 찍고있는것을 보면서 나는 다음에는 이곳을 미래의 여자친구랑 와야겠다고 생각했다 😂😂

입장료가 2만 원이라 잠시 망설였지만, 일본의 유명 건축가 안도 타다오가 설계한 공간이라는 사실에 이끌려 결국 안으로 들어가 보기로 했다.
미술관 입구는 노출 콘크리트 기법으로 되어있었고 빛이 반사되는 유리가 붙어있었다.

As I walked up the hill, my eyes were delighted by the view.
On one side, the beautiful ocean stretched out beside me, and on the other side, a vast meadow spread out, with horses running around freely.
Up ahead, there was a white lighthouse, and many people were taking pictures there.

The admission fee was 20,000 won, so I hesitated for a moment, but my curiosity about the building—designed by the famous Japanese architect Tadao Ando—led me to go inside.

표를 사고 코너를 돌면 갈대 밭이 펼쳐진다.
And as you pass through that door, you enter a path where water falls on both sides.
The farther you walk down the corridor, the more subtly the sound begins to change.
It feels as if this corridor is telling me that I’m about to enter a completely new space.
그리고 저 문을 통과하면 양옆으로 물이 떨어지는 길이 나온다
복도를 좀더 가면 갈수록 미묘하게 소리가 달라진다.
이 복도는 나에게 이 곳 부터는 새로운 공간이라는 것을 알려주는 것 같다.

I was truly amazed by how they found stones that fit so perfectly to build the wall.

쭉 들어가면 하나의 창이 등장한다. 그 창을 통하여 성산 일출봉을 바라 볼 수 있다.
저렇게 딱 맞는 돌을 찾아 벽을 만든게 진짜 대단하다고 느꼈다.

One side of the wall was finished with basalt, while the other was made of exposed concrete.
As I walked down the path, the impression of the walls changed depending on the angle of the sunlight.
Depending on where I stood, and where the light was coming from, the entire atmosphere of the path seemed to shift.
그리고 길을 따라 내려가다 보면, 햇빛의 각도에 따라 벽면이 주는 인상이 달라진다.
내가 어디쯤 서 있는지, 그리고 햇빛이 어디서 비치는지에 따라 길의 분위기 자체가 바뀌는 듯한 느낌이었다.
The interior of the museum was overall quite dark.
From a central circular space, four corridors extended outwards, and depending on which path you chose, you could have a completely different experience.
This museum changes based on your choices—
the direction you take, the time of day you visit—each brings a different feeling.
This is a lot like life.
On the second floor, there's a small space where you can find a few books and color the postcard given to you at the entrance.

미술관 실내는 전체적으로 어두웠다.
가운데 동그란 공간을 기준으로 4개의 복도가 있어서 어떤 루트를 선택하는지에 따라 다른 느낌을 받을 수 있다.
이 미술관은 선택에따라 결과 달라진다.
어느 방향으로 가는지, 어느 시간 때 에 오는지에 따라 느낌이 달라진다.

After finishing my visit to the art museum, I wrapped up my trip to Seopjikoji.
Feeling hungry, I ended the second day with one of Jeju’s local specialties—braised cutlassfish (galchi-jorim).
